OHAMBO^* Privacy Statement

OHAMBO (the “Application”) is a trip-related planning and document store application, available from makingChoices.be bvba. (the “Company”), either online through a website at www.ohambo.com or via a mobile application. OHAMBO provides users with the ability to integrate all of their trip-related information into one location, share information regarding their trips, and connect to third party services that provide valuable information concerning their trip like hotel availability, attractions and transport options.

Introduction

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our privacy practices. You agree to our privacy practices as set out in this privacy statement.

This statement describes the information that the Application collects and how that information may be used by us. This statement does not apply to information we collect through any means other than the Application, actions that you may take as a user to share your information or to information collected on any other Company or third-party site that may link to or be accessible from the Application. We encourage you to learn about the privacy practices of those third parties through which you share your information or which are accessible from the Application.

What information does OHAMBO collect?

We built OHAMBO to help you remember and organize your trip-related plan, thoughts, expenses, documents and other trip-related information. That means you can input, upload, or store in OHAMBO any text, images, documents, and other data that you choose—we refer to that information as “Content”. We also collect and receive the following types of information:

• Basic subscriber information. Upon registration for our service, we collect and receive basic information like your email address, name and hometown.  
• Usage data. We collect and log data on how you and others access and use OHAMBO, for example, the act of creating a trip plan or sharing one.
• Device information. We collect information about the number and type of devices you use to connect to the Service, as well as information about the operating systems on those devices (e.g., iOS, Android, Windows).

We also may link your subscriber information with data we receive from our partners and other third parties to help understand your needs and provide you with a better experience.  For example, if you create or log into an OHAMBO account using your Facebook credentials via single sign-on, we will have access to certain information such as your name and email address as authorized in your Facebook profile settings.

How does OHAMBO use my information?

We have specific rules for how and when we use the information we collect and receive. We describe these below.

What does OHAMBO do with my information?

We are committed to protecting the privacy of your information. Below, we describe the ways in which we use the information we collect and receive to provide, maintain, and improve the Service, to provide troubleshooting and customer support, to protect the Service for all our users and to contact you. 

• To provide troubleshooting and customer support, our Customer Support team may need to access your information, such as your account email address and information about the OHAMBO application you are using, subject to the protections described below.  
• In accordance with your communication preferences, we’ll occasionally contact you to announce new products and features we build for you, share tips for using OHAMBO to get more done, make special offers, and provide information about how OHAMBO works with products and services from our business partners.

Would someone at OHAMBO ever view my Content?

You have control over who sees your Content. We limit the use of your Content to make sure that no one at OHAMBO can view it unless you expressly give us permission or it’s necessary to comply with our legal obligations. Specifically:

• To help refine or improve the technology, we may ask you for permission to review portions of your Content.
• If you contact our Customer Support team for help with specific pieces of Content in your account (for example, if you can’t find a note or document you believe should be in your trip plan), we may ask for your temporary permission to look at your Content. This permission terminates when the issue is resolved.

To test and improve our product offerings for our users, we use aggregated data that does not contain any personal information, does not identify any person, and cannot be connected to any specific user. This policy is not intended to apply to such anonymized/de-identified data.

How does OHAMBO share or disclose my information?

OHAMBO is not in the business of selling or renting your information. Here are instances when we may disclose your information — and then only the minimum information necessary:

• We share your information with Service Providers who process data on our behalf, such as Rome2Rio to find means of transport between 2 locations. When we do this, we will never give them any information to identify you.

We do not share your information with any third parties for their own advertising purposes.

• Your Content is private unless you decide you want to share it. You may choose to share your trip plan with other OHMBO users.
• In the event of a merger, sale, or reorganization of all or part of our business, information covered by this policy may be transferred in connection with that deal.  

How can I manage my information stored in OHAMBO?

Your data is yours. You can manage your information simply by logging into your account and editing your information directly within the OHAMBO application.
However, if you prefer, you can contact us at info@ohambo.com to ask us to provide access to, correct, update, or delete your personal information. Please note that we may ask you for proof of account ownership and/or identity before fulfilling your request.

How long does OHAMBO store my information?

OHAMBO's mission is to help you remember everything important for your trip plan. In order to do that, we make the Content you store in OHAMBO readily accessible to you, until you make the decision to delete it.
If you delete your Content, it will no longer be accessible to you or others who may access the Service. The OHAMBO service’s back-up systems may retain residual copies of your deleted Content for up to 30 days due to the nature of those systems’ operations.
For users who are inactive for extended periods of time, we may close your account to satisfy our obligations under applicable law. If that happens, we will try to notify you before taking any action.

What happens if I want to stop using OHAMBO?

As described above, you can delete your Content at any time, and you can stop using the OHAMBO service at any time.

What happens if OHAMBO closes my account?

If OHAMBO deactivates your account, then you may contact us to request deletion of your Content, and we will evaluate such requests on a case by case basis, pursuant to our legal obligations.

Where does OHAMBO store my information?

When you use OHAMBO on your computing device, such as by using one of our downloadable applications, some of your data will be stored locally on that device.
That data will be replicated on servers maintained by Google. This means that if you store information in or submit data to the application, you acknowledge your personal information will be transmitted to, hosted, and accessed on these serves.
We will collect, store, and use your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws, wherever it is processed.

Cookies and Other Technologies for Use of the Services

The Application may use “cookies”. which are small pieces of code placed on a page to monitor the behavior and collect data about the viewing of that page. Other versions of these technologies may also collect information regarding your Internet protocol address and type of browser, the type of operating system you are using, the domain name of your Internet service provider, the web pages you have visited, location information, and the type of mobile device and provider used to utilize the Application. Access to the information available through these technologies will also be provided to our third party providers, agencies and partners through these technologies.These technologies help us to improve and to deliver a better and more personalized service by enabling us to:

• Estimate our audience size and usage patterns;
• Store information about your preferences, allowing us to customize the Application according to your individual interests;
• Speed up your searches; and
• Recognize you when you return to the Application’s online website.

You may refuse to accept cookies by activating the appropriate settings on your browser. Check with your provider to find out how to disable cookies. Please note that certain features of the Application will not be available once cookies are disabled.

Accessing Your Data

For PII, we make good faith efforts to provide you with access so you can request that we correct the data if it is inaccurate or delete the data if the Company is not required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes. We may decline to process requests that are unreasonably repetitive, require disproportionate technical effort, jeopardize the privacy of others, are extremely impractical, or for which access is not otherwise required by local law.

Data Security

We have implemented reasonable measures designed to secure your data from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration and disclosure.

Children Under the Age of 13

The Application is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under age 13. In the event that we learn that we have collected such data from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information as soon as possible.

Changes to Our Privacy Statement

It is our policy to post any changes we make to our privacy practices on this page. The date the privacy statement was last revised is identified at the top of the privacy statement.
